Day 1

Was a really nice day in Spokane this morning. Woke up early and painstakingly and meticulously finished packing all the camping gear, got some last minute work-related business finished, pulled my underwear on backwards and headed out for Vancouver BC to meet up with the rest of the group.

I started off heading north without knowing which route I would take to Vancouver. It was an odd feeling because there was no pressure to get somewhere in the shortest amount of time. I stopped at a few of the places I've always driven past - like Sherman pass.

Decided to take Hwy 3 across Canada. It is a longer route than the freeways but a nice ride.

Cowboy Coffee in Princeton.

Stopped and talked to a guy sitting on a bench with his 140lb drooly St Bernard.

Sorry I didn't turn on the gps track. Will do tomorrow.

Risto and I will be meeting the other guys tomorrow at 6:30 am for coffee before heading for Prince George.

  1. Off to a nice start! Do you plan on camping out every night? What's your schedule for the whole trip? As in, when do you have to be back at work? :)

  2. "pulled your underwear on backwards...", didn't you learn you are supposed to get a good nights sleep before starting a long drive?
