Test ride

Am planning a ride to the Arctic Ocean on a BMW F800 GSA with a brother-in-law from Vancouver BC, and some of his associates. The trip will start June 20 in Spokane and span 23 days and over 6000 miles.

It won't be a race as we are planning to take it easy with a schedule averaging only 350 miles a day. We also have a few "off" days planned where we hope to go ocean fishing and otherwise relax. The plan is to camp for the nights with periodic motel stays for long hot showers. :)

The extended weather area forecasts in parts of Alaska at the moment are calling for flooding and heavy rain. Right now is 33 degrees, foggy, misty, with 15 mph hour winds in Deadhorse. Sounds like a good time.

Last weekend went for a long test ride from Spokane to Lake Chelan in central Washington and camped for the night to make sure everything works. On the way out it poured rain for about 200 miles and everything stayed dry and was warm, dry, and comfortable. Also rode a lot of dirt roads and and very rough trails through farmers fields on the way home and everything stayed secure.

Ready to go.
